Touchisplayedinternationallyandfeaturesmanyregionalandglobalcompetitions.TherehavebeensevenTouchWorldCups,thelatestinScotlandinJune2011.觸球設有國際上的比賽以及許多地區性的賽事。
在FIT建立後的短短幾年之內，觸球已經有七屆觸球世界杯。
最近的一屆為2011年6月在蘇格蘭愛丁堡舉辦世界杯，澳大利亞獲冠軍，紐西蘭獲亞軍。

觸球的觸碰取代了橄欖球防守球員將對方抱截的動作。
觸球是有限的接觸運動。
